Hello and welcome. I am a warm and approachable art psychotherapist with experience in working with a range of emotional issues. I provide trauma-informed and attachment-based therapy. People often come to art therapy when their coping mechanisms are no longer working and they may be seeking a new way of being in the world. It is a brave step to begin or continue your therapeutic journey, and I will be guided by your pace and adapt sessions to suit your particular needs.
I provide art therapy which supports clients to explore their inner world, express thoughts and feelings for which there are no words, and navigate the changes they wish to make. Feedback from clients states that they enjoy the peacefulness and clarity that comes from the process of art therapy which involves attuned art-making alongside an art therapist. I also use relaxation breathing, bilateral drawing, mindful movement, embodiment, and Emotional Freedom Technique. Please see my website for more information on these techniques which can be used to support your emotional health and wellbeing.
During my career, I have worked to support those with developmental trauma; recovering from the lived experience of abuse; emotional overwhelm; anxiety; depression; low mood; burnout; general stress; work-related stress; attachment needs; exploration of identity, sexuality and gender; creative blocks; insomnia and sleep difficulties.
I am an ND ally and experienced working with autistic clients/clients with autism; ADHD; dyslexia; and dyspraxia.
I currently work in independent and private practice, and previously have worked within children’s services, a sexual abuse support service, with local community groups, charities, and libraries. I have experience providing therapy for in-person, walk and talk, online, and telephone sessions.
My continuing professional development is integral to being an HCPC registered Allied Health Professional. I have completed further training with the Institute of Sensorimotor Art Therapy; Carolyn Spring Trauma Recovery; The EFT and Mindfulness Centre; The Embodiment Centre; and have further training in CBT Skills for Anxiety and OCD, and Applied Neuroscience for Treating Anxiety, Panic and Worry from The Centre for Psychotherapy Excellence (PESI). I'm a Regional Coordinator for The British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT) where I co-facilitate member meetings and art-making.
