English

I offer a warm, friendly, non-judgemental, compassionate space. As a member of the BACP (governing body), I adhere to their ethical framework. My practice is currently online due to the pandemic. I usually offer sessions face to face in East and Central London. I will be returning to in person sessions in the very near future and this will also depend on the demand.

My approach to working with clients is integrative - which means I am influenced by a variety of theoretical frameworks. This allows a creative and flexible style of working which considers individual uniqueness.
I have a particular interest in how early trauma impacts the body and how it shapes people generally. Whatever you bring, what is most important I believe, is that you feel that you are sitting with someone who is truly listening to you and whom you feel confident in. The therapeutic relationship itself is also a source of rich material. It can often give insights into how we relate to others outside the therapy room and our early attachments.

To date I have worked in generalist holistic therapy centre and a specialist centre where I still volunteer as a Counsellor to members of the LGBTQ community. I have experience in a range of issues such as: relationships, bereavements, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, sexuality, gender identity, intergenerational trauma, sexual and physical abuse.

Prior to my training in Counselling, I trained as a Complementary Therapist and am still in practice. I also have over 20 years experience in the social care and housing field - specialising in mental health. This work has certainly enriched my ability to connect with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds.

What to expect:
I appreciate it takes courage to reach out and access therapy. Accessing a free consultation is most certainly a step towards finding out how I can support you and if we can work together. Following this we arrange an initial assessment. I work with people on a short or open ended contract. In your first session, we will discuss what is part of the contract. For example, confidentiality, days and times of sessions, cancellations, holidays and focus of the work.
