Sometimes referred to as psychodynamic counselling, psychodynamic therapy covers a whole range of analytic therapies.

Reveal deeply buried feelings

Just like the therapy of psychoanalysis, psychodynamic therapy aims to get in touch with the subconscious mind. If you take part in this type of therapy, you will find yourself much more aware of your deeply buried feelings and will be more able to resolve them.

Very often our subconscious can take hold of unpleasant experiences and memories and bury them. The conscious mind then struggles to cope or process them which is why psychodynamic therapy is so useful in bringing them to the surface. Left in the subconscious they can become harmful and can manifest in lots of unpleasant ways.

Psychodynamic therapy will deal with them by focusing on current problems and finding a solution. It helps to deal with a whole range of psychological problems and can change the way that clients interact with others.

A relationship built upon trust

Your psychodynamic therapist will work with you to tailor the therapy to suit you and your personal situation. By providing you with an oasis of unconditional acceptance and developing a relationship built upon trust, conflict and hidden issues hidden by the subconscious will be revealed so that you will begin to understand why your mind is working in a certain way.

If you would like us to put you in touch with a therapist that makes use of psychodynamic therapy, fill in the form below. We will identify a practitioner that is suitable for you and who will be able to assist.
